How to Make UPI Payments Using Credit Cards?

UPI (Unified Payments Interface) is a digital payment system that allows you to make payments directly from your bank account to a recipient’s bank account using a smartphone. It is a secure and convenient way to make payments, and it is widely accepted in India.

UPI Payments Using Credit Cards:

       1. Download a UPI app: To make a UPI payment, you will need to have a UPI app installed on your smartphone. Some popular UPI apps in India are Google Pay, Paytm, PhonePe, and BHIM. To use a UPI app, you will need to have an internet connection and a smartphone with a compatible operating system. Some UPI apps may also require you to have a valid mobile number that is registered with your bank account.

      2. Link your credit card to the UPI app: To link your credit card to a UPI app, you will need to follow these steps:

  • Open the UPI app on your smartphone.
  • Look for the option to add a payment method or link a bank account or credit card. This option may be located in the app’s settings or under a menu such as “Payments,” “Wallet,” or “Add Money.”
  • Select the option to add a credit card.
  • Enter your credit card details, including the card number, expiry date, and CVV code. You may also be asked to enter your name as it appears on the credit card and the card issuer’s name.
  • Follow any additional instructions or prompts to complete the process of linking your credit card to the UPI app. This may involve verifying your credit card or entering a one-time password (OTP) that is sent to your registered mobile number.
  • Once your credit card is successfully linked to the UPI app, you can use it to make payments using UPI.
  • Note: Some UPI apps may charge a fee for using a credit card to make a payment. It is advisable to check with the UPI app or your credit card issuer for more information on fees and charges.

Once you have installed the UPI app, you will need to link your credit card to the app. To do this, you will need to enter your credit card details, including the card number, expiry date, and CVV code.

     3. Make the payment: Once your credit card is linked to the UPI app, you can use it to make a payment by following these steps:

  • Select the option to make a payment
  • Enter the recipient’s UPI ID or phone number
  • Enter the amount you want to pay
  • Select your linked credit card as the payment method
  • Review and confirm the payment details.

     4. Enter your credit card PIN: After you confirm the payment details, the UPI app will prompt you to enter your credit card PIN. Enter the PIN to complete the payment.

Bottom line:

Some UPI apps may charge a convenience fee for using a credit card to make a payment. It is advisable to check with the UPI app or your credit card issuer for more information on fees and charges.
